“Justified” returns tonight on FX at 10 PM (could be a different time depending on provider). In 2011, “Justified” was one of the top 10 television series of the year for me. Following a decent yet unremarkable first season the series took a leap in its second season. I’d consider it among the best dramas on television today.

“Justified” follows Deputy U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) who finds himself in all kinds of trouble both professionally and in his personal life as he deals with various criminal activity. Walton Goggins (Boyd Crowder) delivers every time as Raylan’s part-time friend, part-time foe. Givens’ and Crowder’s relationship has developed into one of the more intriguing on television. Last season the main story arc focused on the long time family rivalry between the Givens family and the Bennett family. This gave way to great performances all around, but particularly from Margo Martindale (Mags Bennett) as the leader of the Bennetts.
I’m looking forward to seeing where “Justified” goes this season. After such a strong season, one that largely found the main story lines resolved, some new (or at least different) things are in store. This will mean new characters and new story lines. I’m definitely interested to see if “Justified” will build on last season.
“Justified” Season 3 Promo:
Great article! I noticed Jeremy Davies in a few of the ads for Season 3, so at least we know Dickie will be back from last season. I also read in an interview with Graham Yost that the main storyline this season will not have to do with any other new families feuding with the Givens clan, so something new’s coming up in that regard.
Less than twelve hours to go! I can’t wait.
Thanks for the read!
Yeah, hopefully we’ll get a decent amount of Jeremy Davis. He was great last season. Can’t wait either! Thanks for the comment.
Is season two on DVD yet?
Yes, it certainly is. http://www.amazon.com/Justified-Complete-Second-Season-Blu-ray/dp/B004HW7JO2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326834332&sr=8-1
